HBO Has Been Hacked

Game of Thrones on HBO

It turns out you might not have to wait until Sunday to find out what happens on the next episode of "Game of Thrones." HBO has confirmed it's been a victim of a hack.

According to Entertainment Weekly, an upcoming episode of "Ballers" and "Room 104" have been put online, along with the script from next week’s fourth episode of "Game of Thrones." What's more, the hackers promise they've got more "coming soon."

HBO isn't commenting on what exactly has been stolen or leaked, but the network does call the hack "disruptive, unsettling, and disturbing." "I can assure you that senior leadership and our extraordinary technology team, along with outside experts, are working round the clock to protect our collective interests," CEO Richard Plepler said in an email to staff. "The efforts across multiple departments have been nothing short of herculean. It is a textbook example of quintessential HBO teamwork. The problem before us is unfortunately all too familiar in the world we now find ourselves a part of."
