Jared Leto says he and his Thirty Seconds to Mars bandmates are in "the most wonderful place." The rocker, who also works as an Oscar-winning actor, tells Billboard that they've officially cut ties with Virgin Records/EMI.
The group has a tumultuous history with the label, which is all covered in Leto's documentary, Artifact. But now he says they're currently label-free after fulfilling their contract with last year's album, Love, Lust, Faith, and Dreams. Leto didn't confirm where the band might go next, but said they feel "free and clear and excited about the future."
Leto's Artifact aired on VH1 and Palladia this weekend. It premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, and was released digitally last December.
